Just because the summer weather is now behind us doesn’t mean grilling season has to come to an end. By following a few simple tips, you can enjoy delicious food on your propane grill all year-round, even in cold Ottawa weather.
One of the most frustrating things about fall and winter is how early the sun sets. Upgrading to a propane grill with built-in lights is a great way to extend the amount of time you can cook outdoors. It’s also a good idea to add some exterior lights to make sure you can see exactly what you’re doing as it gets darker.
When cooking outside in colder weather, remember to allow for extra time to preheat a propane grill and to have extra tanks on hand. Due to the colder temperatures, propane consumption is usually higher.
Not sure how full your propane tank is? All you need is some warm water. Simply remove the tank from your grill and pour water over the side. Feel the side and you’ll notice the tank feels cooler where the propane begins, providing you with a good idea of how full it is.
Remember, it’s never a good idea to use your propane grill indoors or in the garage. Grilling indoors can produce dangerous gasses and also increase the risk of fire.
